Roli & Geno Boni

Ceramics, Pottery, Ridgway PA
At Mudslide Pottery, I work to produce well-crafted and functional stoneware and porcelain pottery. Rooted in tradition, I continue to push the art form forward with contemporary designs and glaze techniques. I draw inspiration from the environments that surround us, the deciduous forests, and rivers of Pennsylvania to the architecture of modern cities. The shape and form of my work are heavily influenced by the high-fire reduction glazes I work with. I have always been intrigued by challenging glaze categories, such as copper red and hardwood ash glazes. Through the firing process, I can turn impermanent clay forms and carefully mixed minerals into a permanent object of beauty that will last through the ages.
