Robert Vrboncic

Wood, Marienville PA
I create beautiful artwork out of wood by employing the same hand-crafted techniques as early artisans. I specialize in 3-D cutting boards, exotic wood jewelry boxes, and sculptors utilizing the natural grain to create a unique one-of-a-kind product.
I get my inspiration from the wood itself to create unique designs.  I start by drafting the concepts then I cut out the patterns to enhance the wood colors and grains. I handcraft each piece one at a time by sanding and finishing them to expose the best features, such as knots and burls.
I finish the jewelry boxes and Sculptors with lacquer for a glassy finish.  The cutting boards are finished in food-safe mineral oil and carnauba wax.
