In a flash: Day 6

Ah ha! You thought I missed a day, but no! I'm absolutely counting the days and keeping you all up to date. So, here's a two-fer.

It's Photography time! With a certain tech company making anyone with a phone today's 'amateur' photographer, one can not (should not) understate the skill of the professional photographer. Patience is key while a talented eye and a dash of luck plays a key in capturing the perfect scene.

This year, we welcome back the patient and talented Larry Downey, Rocky Holland, and Curt Weinhold!
Picture
Lawrence "Larry" Downey is an artist that is forever broadening his horizons. Experimenting with various aspects of the natural world from the large to the extremely small, snowflake in a macro lens small, as well as testing the photographer's partner in crime: light. While snapping a picture and framing it would make any of if art fabulous on it's own, he goes a step further and transfers some onto slate! Not only are they eye-catching, but they're great conversation pieces in your home.

Rocky Holland, a resident of our beloved Kane, has been hunting and 'catching' nature in photography for over 40 years! He has traveled from the wilds of Alaska to the Florida Everglades all to find his next great art subject. I have a wonderful series of a young coyote pup howling for the first time that's been on my wall for a few years and I still adore it. You want a bit of the wide world in your home? Rocky's got your covered!

Curt Weinhold is both a great artist and a teacher on one of his favorite subjects: Nightscapes. Like many of you out there, I grew up looking to the sky and studying the stars or just enjoying the vastness of space surrounding me. Being able to capture a slice of that wonderous sight and have it on the wall has been a fantastic addition to my own art treasures. Curt does not stop at gazing upwards. As a longtime resident of the PA Wilds he has a deep love for the area; the natural world and the creatures living in it. Through his art, he shares that passion with everyone!

If you love the wilds, too, then you're going to want some inspirational photography on your wall and Art in the Wilds just might have the perfect piece for you.
