finding Art in the Wilds of Pennsylvania

Art in the Wilds is a juried Fine Art and Fine Craft Show located in Kane, a vibrant small town in northern Pennsylvania. We bring together our region’s finest artists and artisans every year since 2007 for a grand weekend in June. Happy customers appreciate the artwork and the beautiful park setting—it’s Art in the Wilds!

What, where, how: Day 5

So, you're coming to Kane. That's great! There is plenty of nature to enjoy, naturally (pun intended). But outside hugging the trees, what is there to do??

Fear not, our friends at the Kane Area Development Center (KADC), have a great list of suggestions that I'll be dipping a bit into here. You can find that list by clicking this link.

They offer up ideas like visiting history by checking out the General Thomas L. Kane Memorial Chapel, Kane Manor Country Inn, Olmstead Manor in Ludlow, the Kinzua Skywalk that was formerly a RR bridge and now comes with an interactive museum, and the Kane Family Drive-In Theatre; one of the last 25 remaining in the country!

Also, while you're at Evergreen Park, take a quick walk up the hill to the Kane Depot Museum located in the lovingly restored PA Railroad Depot. There is plenty to look at from historical artifacts from the area, information on the wolves that once lived here, and even some art to browse. Speaking of browsing, be sure to venture into town to the Artworks on the Summit. This is an artist-run cooperative where you can browse, buy, learn, or even just interact with fellow artists and art lovers alike!

While those are all absolutely worth a visit, I'd like to add on one of our newest additions in town which is a simple stroll to the edge of Evergreen Park, right next to the Art in the Wilds show! Finished in time for a Memorial Day unveiling, Memorial Point is dedicated to all the men and women from the area that have served our country. A lot of hard work that was hindered by the pandemic this past year went into building a peaceful place to honor our soldiers.

Of course, I have to venture away from all this history and entice the foodies and wine connoisseurs. Over the past couple years Kane has added in some excellent places to eat and sip to your heart's content. There's the Twisted Vine Beverage Company,  Logyard Brewing (which has a fascinating history as well!), Table 105, and more all right on Fraley Street in town. Be sure to also take a little venture to the outer edges of Kane and visit Flickerwood Wine Cellar and Cocktail Lounge for a little more tasting.

And if alcohol isn't your style, hit up Kane's local legends at the Texas Hot Lunch, Roma Gardens, Pepe's Pizzeria, Grandma Bair's Family Restaurant, and many more!

Whether you're here purely for Art in the Wilds, visiting for Alumni weekend, or are just taking a vacation in the woodlands, Kane's got you covered for all your touristy needs.

Oh! And while you're making plans, cross your fingers, toes, and whatever else you can that the weather cooperates this weekend...
